Pumpkin Spice Latte Day

My Husband and I have an annual trip to Starbucks the first Saturday after they launch their Pumpkin Spice Latte. Ok- So I am going for the PSL, he is going for a White Hot Chocolate as he hates Coffee.

It’s the first event of the Autumn season for me- even though it was 20c (68f) out so it certainly doesn’t feel like Autumn, yet.

I opted for the Vegan version this year as I continue to move towards a more whole foods plant based type diet. Alright, soma PSL doesn’t fall into that category- but hey it was at least Vegan.

Pumpkin Spice in the UK

Pumpkin Spice has long been a tradition in the States, but as with all things, it has come across the Atlantic and graced us with its presence. And it is very welcome!

We haven’t bought in to it as hard as our friends across the pond- you won’t find Pumpkin Spice air freshener, or cereal, or hummus (A friend on holiday In the USA sent me a picture of Pumpkin Spice Hummus so It definitely exists!) but last year I did find Pumpkin Spice Muffins and Bagels.

Maybe this year there will be more? I’ll let you know. Heck, I might find enough to justify a whole post!

I always post pictures on Facebook so it comes up on my memories in the future, so here’s a few pictures for you!

How cute are these tumblers and mugs?

The prices however were NOT cute. £15 ($20USD) for that Pumpkin Mug! Yikes.

Mug prices aside, It was a fun morning out. I don’t know what it is about PSL but every sip tastes as good as the first. Most of the time the first bite or sip of something is always the best, it’s what keeps us coming back trying to get that “first high” so to speak. But the PSL is pretty consistent. At £4.80 ($6USD) for a Grande though, I will only be back maybe two more times. Plus- the sugar isn’t really great healthwise.

I will definitely be taking a trip to Costa Coffee (The UK version of Starbucks) to sample their Autumn offering- A Maple Hazlenut Latte. It sounds delicious, and there is a Costa in the village so its more accessible (Starbucks for us is a 10mile drive there and back, which to us Brits may as well be another country)

Have you had your PSL yet? Maybe you prefer something else? Let me know in the comments!
